Microneedling with PRP:
Using a simple yet technique which requires skill, we use PRP with microneedling and incorporate gentle electrocautery to get rid of the trouble areas and allow new formation of healthy collagen. The entire process is conducted by a board certified Physician.
We use a state of the art microneedling machine which uses sterile needles-specific to your need. Microneedling allows collagen production and the product we use (either PRP or PRF) to fully absorb into the skin. This overall process not only creates new collagen but decreases inflammation/scars and creates new blood supply.
We also use PRF (platelet-rich Fibrin) therapy in certain circumstances. PRF is a form of plasma therapy which is even more targeted for facial wrinkles-especially those which are deep. It uses your own body and we form a gel from the plasma which has many platelets and growth factors allowing collagen production especially for deep wrinkles or scars.
Electrocautery:
Electrocautery is very useful for cherry hemangiomas/telangiectasias (dilated blood vessels) by eliminating the proliferation. We also use it for stubborn bumps on the face such as sebaceous glands which appear yellow and shiny. After the surface is smoothed, usually we inject PRP to help stimulate collagen production and reduce hyperpigmentation.
How is the procedure conducted?
We use local anesthesia along either by a topical numbing agent or injection with a sterile technique. There is no downtime.
A scab will form within 2 days and will flake away in 5-10 days. We always advised using Natural Zinc derived sunscreen SPF30 or above along with topical antibiotic, the former should be part of your daily routine. After 10 days, you will forget that there was anything there to begin with.
